Navig8 cancels five newbuildings from South Korea

Navig8 Chemical Tankers is slowing down and canceling an order for five newbuilding tankers from STX Offshore & Shipbuilding. The canceled orders come in the wake of a period in which the carrier has expanded its fleet significantly.

Navig8 Chemical Tankers has canceled five orders for new tanker vessels from a South Korean shipyard.

The Norwegian carrier informs that a deal was made with Korean yard STX Offshore & Shipbuilding to cancel deliveries of MR chemical tankers with a capacity of 49,000 dwt.

3i buys AMP out of Esvagt

Private equity firm 3i, which owns half of carrier Esvagt, has agreed with the company's second owner, AMP Capital, to take over all of Esvagt for GBP 268 million, making 3i the sole owner. The transaction is expected to close in the first quarter of 2022.
