Røkke's Ocean Yield buys four super tankers

The Aker Group's shipowner Ocean Yield has entered a deal with a Greek shipowner for four supertankers, all of which will sail on long-term charter contracts when delivered.

Shipowner Ocean Yield, part of Kjell Inge Røkke's Aker Group, will buy four supertanker vessels VLCC from Greece's Kyklades Maritime Corporation.

The four vessels are under construction and will, when delivered, sail on 15-year bareboat charters to a company owned and guaranteed by Kyklades' subsidiary Okeanis Marine Holdings, according to a press release from Ocean Yield.
