BW LPG doubles number of dual fuel vessels

Gas carrier BW LPG plans to retrofit another four of its largest gas carriers to operate with dual fuel engines capable of burning two types of fuel. This will bring the company's total number of retrofitted vessels to eight.

BW LPG plans to retrofit a total of eight of the shipping company's biggest gas carriers with dual fuel engines, informs the shipping company.

The gas carrier had already ordered four engines capable of sailing on two fuel types, and has now utilized an option for another four.

3i buys AMP out of Esvagt

Private equity firm 3i, which owns half of carrier Esvagt, has agreed with the company's second owner, AMP Capital, to take over all of Esvagt for GBP 268 million, making 3i the sole owner. The transaction is expected to close in the first quarter of 2022.
