Major shipping companies see no need for layoffs

The coronavirus will end at some point. As such, major shipping lines like Maersk, Torm and Norden do not expect to fire employees, according to a survey conducted by ShippingWatch. Bimco chief analyst thinks the carriers are wrong.

Employees at several major Danish shipping companies look set for a good night's sleep. Currently, there are no planned layoffs at the carriers despite the corona crisis, which is otherwise putting pressure on the global economy.
