Family members turn down purchase offer from Thomas Wilhelmsen

The dispute about who should inherit the Norwegian Wilhelmsen group continues. According to Finansavisen, seven family members have turned down an offer totaling NOK 1.4 billion for their ownership stakes.

The battle over who should control the Norwegian Wilhelmsen group – both the stock-listed company and the privately held companies under the shipping dynasty – just escalated further.

According to Norwegian newspaper Finansavisen, seven family members – one aunt and six cousins – Tuesday turned down a purchasing offer from Thomas Wilhelmsen, who is the CEO of shipping group Wilh. Wilhelmsen and son of Wilhelm Wilhelmsen. The founder passed away in February this year.
