Irish ferry operator boosts presence in English Channel

Irish Ferries has bought another passenger and cargo ferry set to sail on the Dover-Calais route in the English Channel. This will be the third ferry deployed by the Irish operator on this route, in competition with DFDS and P&O Ferries.

Danish ferry operator and logistics firm DFDS will now face increased competition on major route Dover-Calais in the English Channel.

The competition comes as Irish Ferries acquires another passenger and cargo ferry set for deployment on the busy main route between the UK and France and thereby increases its number of operational ferries on the route to three.
