EU bans Russian register to prevent insight into sensitive fleet information

Close ties to Russia’s Ministry of Defense are among reasons for EU banning all trade with one of the country’s central marine classification societies, the Russian Maritime Register of Shipping. According to EU sources, the company has had ”privileged access to sensitive information.”
