The oil and gas segment is having an unexpected upswing, generating increased revenue for special carriers. A likely boom in wind power makes the future seem promising as well.

Even though day rates have seen steep declines since the market for special and project cargo peaked last year, the situation has previously been much more critical for multipurpose (MPP) and heavy lift carriers.
