India plans to allow foreign ships to operate on intra-Indian routes

According to media reports, the Indian government plans to remove completely its strict cabotage rules. This could pave the way for container carriers to operate on intra-Indian routes.

India’s government plans to remove the last bits of its cabotage rules which impede foreign-flagged carriers to sail and carry freight between Indian ports, Indian media The Economic Times writes.
