Analysts: Maersk underperforms compared to competitors

Maersk blamed overcapacity for its disappointing Q4 results. But according to Linerlytica, the shipping company has continuously been 5% below the market.

Maersk’s chief executive Vincent Clerc said on Thursday, when the company’s quarterly and annual financial statements were published, that the record-breaking operating loss (EBIT) in the fourth quarter of 2023 was partly due to overcapacity in the market.
