US Navy says rape case should be filed as work-related dispute

A chief engineer was allegedly raped on the USNS Carson City. She has sued the US Navy, which believes she should seek workers’ compensation instead.

The US Navy wants to halt an upcoming trial in which a female chief engineer claims that in December 2021 she was raped by the captain of the Navy ship USNS Carson City.
