Spot rates move closer to pandemic levels

Ocean freight rates have increased for ten consecutive weeks, according to an Alphaliner report.

Rates for ocean freight keep moving closer to the extreme levels seen during the pandemic, as the latest report of the Shanghai Containerized Freight Index (SCFI) published by the Shanghai Shipping Exchange showed a 12.6 percent increase in spot rates.
