
The rates on Asia-Europe are now in free fall, says Lars Jensen, CEO and partner of analyst agency SeaIntel, in a comment to ShippingWatch following another rate drop, of 12.1 percent, in the past week.
"The rate is now down USD 483 per teu in just four weeks, which can only be described as a rate in free fall. It's now at the lowest level we've seen since February last year, where the shipping companies succesfully achieved massive rate increases based on significant capacity reductions," says Lars Jensen:
