Damco: Major development ahead in Latin America

Damco has a plan for accelerating growth in the coming years, and in Latin America, things must move even faster, says the former Maersk employee and new COO for Damco Latin America, Sune Stilling, to ShippingWatch.

In the spring of 2013, the Damco management made changes in the Latin American part of the company. The appointments included the Dane Sune Stilling who is now COO for the region. Stilling was previously Managing Director in West Africa for Damco. We expect a strong growth in the region, Stilling says in an interview with ShippingWatch.

What do you expect for Damco in Latin America in the next five years?

In one word: growth. The growth that DAMCO has seen globally the past 4 years, outperforming competition on all important metrics, is for me one of the most exciting aspects of being associated with DAMCO. We are preparing ourselves for further accelerating the growth in Latin America and across the global, doubling our size and our offices to between 500 and 600 offices by 2016. In select markets, also in Latin America, that growth will be significantly higher and I find that tremendously exciting to be a part of.
