
Through its lesser known subsidiary MCC Transport, Maersk sits on 5-6 percent of the Asian container market. A fragmented and obscure market that offers large volumes and continued growth.
"There should be more focus on intra-Asia. This was the largest market in the world in 2012, even larger than Asia-Europe. All customers interested in global trade are seeing major growth rates out here. So this is the most important market to many companies. It's a bit strange to us out here that people aren't paying more attention," says MCC Transport CEO Tim Wickmann to Ritzau Finans.
