Drewry: Asia-Europe rates increasing

Container shipping spot rates on the Asia-Europe route is increasing following the carriers' general rate increase on July 1st, writes Drewry based on its weekly update of the World Container Index.

According to the estimates of the World Container Index, the spot freight rate on container shipping from Shanghai to Rotterdam increased by 165 percent, to USD 2,622 per feu, compared to last week, writes Drewry in relation to updating the index on the Thursday.
