
The increase in global container exports continued in September, compared to the same period last year, according to the latest data from Container Trades Statistics (CTS). The numbers show a 6.17 percent increase, which means that 10,860,600 teu were transported that month. The increase means that global container exports have experienced a constant growth in six months now.
And the export of containers from the key Asia region, including intra-Asian transports, also grew i September, by 5.93 percent compared to last year, to a total of 6,178,900 teu, thus making September the best month for the region in two years. Besides exports to South and Central America, the period saw solid increases overall, says CTS.
