Six eco ships for new Dubai player in product tank

With a new order for six MR eco-design ships, Dubai company Tristar is well on its way to enter the product tank market, where the carrier, according to its CEO, will be a significant player.

With a total investment of USD 200 million, Dubai-based carrier Tristar takes a serious step into the market for product/chemical tank. Tristar, headed by CEO Eugene Mayne, has ordered six eco-design ships from the Hyundai Mipo Dockyard in Korea, all of them set for delivery in 2016.

"This investment fits well with our long-term strategy of differentiating our business portfolio and positioning our company as a significant player in the segment for pure product tank," Eugene Mayne tells Gulfnews, according to Shipandbunker.
