
In the newspaper Hamburg Abendblatt on Friday, the Chairman of Hapag-Lloyd, Juergen Weber, calls for rival carrier Hamburg Süd to join the current merger negotiations between Hapag-Lloyd and Chilean CSAV.
Merger talks between the two large German container carriers have collapsed twice in the past, most recently in early 2013, but that does not stop Juergen Weber from appealing to the Oetker-family, which controls Hamburg Süd.
