Fewer violent assaults on ships in 2013

According to security agency Aburgus 2013 brought a reduced number of violent assaults on ships, and the number of reported assaults - successful or not - has decreased to the lowest level since 2007.

The shipping industry did not suffer as much from violent assaults in 2013 as it has in the past, says security agency Aburgus in an analysis. The Christmas month brought the lowest amount of reported crime against ships, while figures from the IMO show that the number of reported assaults, successful or not, decreased to the lowest level since 2007, according to the Financial Times.
