Boskalis to invest EUR 300 million in 2014

In spite of tough market conditions, Svitzer competitor Boskalis grew to record levels in 2013. Investments for the next three years will total EUR 800 millio, of which EUR 300 million are earmarked for 2014.

The 2013 annual report from Dutch Boskalis reaches several record-highs. Both in terms of revenue, at EUR 3.5 billion compared to EUR 3.1 billion in 2012, as well as its net result of EUR 366 million. This result came to EUR 249 million the year before, according to the company's annual report, published today.

The improvement was primarily caused by special items totaling around EUR 97 million before taxes, says the company. The orderbook decreased slightly, to EUR 4.000 billion, compared to EUR 4.106 billion in 2012.
