Heavy activity in container charter market

Maersk Line as well as MSC are active in the charter market and both have, according to Alphaliner, chartered ships from German DS Schiffahrt at very attractive terms.

The charter market for container ships is characterized by a fairly large level of activity, but the rate level is far from its past days of glory and is only showing moderate improvements.

According to Alphaliner, Maersk Line and MSC recently chartered 6,479 teu vessels for 3-6 months at a fairly low price, namely USD 13,300 per day, from German DS Schiffahrt.
