Container carriers chartering ships at rock bottom rates

German Rickmers Trust Management has entered two new charter contracts with Maersk Line, but several other carriers are taking advantage of a charter market currently under massive pressure.

German Rickmers Trust Management Pte. has chartered two of the company's container ships, both 3,450 teu, to Maersk Line for a period of 12-24 months, says Rickmers in a statement today, Tuesday.

The two ships, Henry Rickmers and Richard Rickmers, have been on charter with Evergreen, which recently returned the ships to Rickmers.
