EU proposal on Philippine seafarers on the horizon
The Danish Shipowners' Association expects the EU Commission to present a proposal before the summer holidays regarding actions in light of the conditions on the Philippine seafarers schools.

The EU Commission is expected to present its long-awaited proposal concerning actions related to the Philippine seafarers schools before the summer holidays this year. Withdrawing the schools' license would have far-reaching consequences for the European carriers, as they employ as many as 100,000 Philippine seafarers on their ships.
