The major shipping and logistics company Scan-Group, which specializes in emergency transports, dangerous cargo, project cargo, and other types of cargo, stayed on track last year and finished 2013 with a profit after taxes of USD 10.79 million, a small decrease from USD 11.02 million in 2012. Revenue declined from USD 1.22 billion to around USD 1.20 billion, and these results correspond to the company's expectations, according to the annual report.
"Despite the poor freight market, freight volumes have increased slightly. However, due to increasing freight rates and a low USD exchange rate, revenue has decreased as anticipated. The Board of Directors considers the performance for the year acceptable," says management in the report.
