Six Thorco seafarers missing after collision

A large-scale search and rescue operation is underway in the Singapore Strait after a collision between freight vessel Thorco Cloud and a Stolt-Nielsen tanker. Top priority now is to find the six missing seafarers, says Thorco CEO.

Six Thorco seafarers remain missing after a collision between Danish freight vessel Thorco Cloud and chemical tanker vessel Stolt Commitment from Norwegian carrier Stolt-Nielsen in the Singapore Strait on Wednesday.

The Thorco Cloud sank in a matter of minutes after the collision, reports the ship's captain, who is among the seafarers rescued on Wednesday following the collision, explains Thorco CEO Thomas Mikkelsen.
