Alphaliner: Panama Canal ousts Suez on US East Coast trade

The expanded Panama canal has seized back its market share from the Suez canal and is once again in the top spot for sea freight from Asia to the US East Coast. Panama's market share is expected to grow further, writes Alphaliner.

In recent years, the Panama Canal lost a significant portion of its market share to the competing Suez Canal, which has attracted carriers with bigger waterway.
