Norwegian shipowners: Crisis calls for drastic measures

Norwegian offshore carriers have lost half of their revenue over the past three years, Director General of the Norwegian Shipowners' Association, Sturla Henriksen, tells ShippingWatch. The industry has been forced into restructuring.

It was necessary to change conditions significantly by restructuring the Norwegian offshore sector, which has suffered major setbacks in recent years from low oil prices which contributed in reducing the amount of offshore work on the Norwegian shelf.
