Maersk wants to earn as much on logistics as major freight forwarders

The profitability of Maersk's logistics business must reach the same levels as the world's major freight forwarders, says CEO Søren Skou. Next target is top line growth, after Maersk grew its profit in the third quarter on lower costs.

A.P. Moeller-Maersk wants to go head to head with the big freight forwarders in terms of the profitability of its logistics business.

The logistics unit got more up to speed in the third quarter after a second quarter in which CEO Søren Skou was not pleased with the growth recorded in the new focus area.
