US billion-dollar tariffs aimed at EU members come into force

Tariff hikes totaling more than USD 7.5 billion against a series of EU member states come into force Friday.


The US tariff hikes for more than USD 7.5 billion on EU goods came into force Friday morning CET.

A spokesman for the US Trade Representative, Robert Lighthizer, confirmed that the increases of between 10 and 25 percent would be implemented after the World Trade Organization approved them earlier this week, reports news agency Reuters.
