CMA CGM signs deal with Shell on biofuel

CMA CGM has closed a deal with Shell that will ensure deliveries of biofuel for the container line's vessels to sail on. The biofuel is made from recycled cooking oil. Competitors MSC and Maersk use biofuel as well.

French shipping group CMA CGM has entered a deal with Shell meant to secure deliveries of biofuel for the company's ships to sail on.

According to a statement by the container line, the volumes will enable CMA CGM to sail up to 1 million kilometers, corresponding to more than 80 return trips between Rotterdam and New York.
