Cargill to install sails on product tankers

Commodity trader Cargill, which operates a large fleet of commercial vessels, joins forces with BAR Technologoes to design the so-called wing sails in an effort to save fuel and reduce carbon emissions by up to 30 percent.

If things go as planned, international commodity trader Cargill will in 2022 launch the first product tanker fitted with newly developed wing sails spanniing upwards of 45 meters.
