IMO approves much-discussed proposal on how to lower short-term emissions

The IMO just approved a proposal that sets out the methods shipping will use to lower its emissions in the short term. This happens despite criticism from, among others, several European countries. The approval is immediately met with criticism from NGOs.

The member states of the IMO make short work of their negotiations and approve a much-discussed proposal submitted which sets out what methods will be used to lower the industry's emissions in the short-term.
