Alleged pirates on Danish frigate to be released

Two of the presumed pirates detained on Danish frigate Esbern Snare engaged in anti-piracy operations in the Gulf of Guinea will be set free.

At least two of the alleged pirates, who have been held back on the frigate Esbern Snare in the Gulf of Guinea outside Western Africa, are to be released, reports Ritzau.

To Danish news media Ekstra Bladet, Niels Anker Rasmussen, lawyer to one of the men, informs that a withdrawal of charge has been issued, meaning that the prosecution authority will not take judicial action.
