Italian frigate to replace Esbern Snare in Gulf of Guinea

An Italian frigate will replace Esbern Snare in the fight against pirates in the Gulf of Guinea. The Danish vessel has been called home due to the Ukraine conflict.

While Esbern Snare, equipped with a helicopter and a maritime task force onboard, has been ordered home from the fight against piracy in the Gulf of Guinea, an Italian frigate is heading in the opposite direction in order to partake in protecting the international merchant fleet in the region.
