P&O is severely criticized after mass layoffs

P&O Ferries is severely criticized by the British government and opposition after the carrier suddenly slashed 800 jobs set to be replaced by a cheaper workforce. Operations are suspended for up to ten days, while P&O finds new staff.

P&O Ferries with routes on the English Channel, among other places, has sailed into a political storm in the UK after the ferry operator without notice halted all sailings Thursday and sacked 800 employees in order to replace them with cheaper options.
