Greek shipowners want enhanced climate control of suppliers

The Union of Greek Shipowners praises preliminary EU deal on quotas for shipping but calls for regulation of suppliers and producers of marine fuels.

The preliminary deal for adding shipping to the European Union’s quota system, Emissions Trading System (ETS), is regarded favorably by the Union of Greek Shipowners (UGS), but in an open letter, the association stresses that regulation ought to be introduced as well in other parts of the value chain.
