Report: Shipping should move directly to green fuels and drop temporary solutions

Global carbon pricing for shipping that also actively promotes usage of green fuel is the way to a green transformation of the sector, according to new report.

The shipping industry will have to start using green fuels right away instead of losing time on a transitional phase if the sector is to achieve sustainability by 2050, recommends the OECD’s International Transport Forum (ITF) in a new report on shipping’s green transformation.
