Global piracy incidents hit lowest levels in decades

Global piratical activities are dropping steadily, with dwindling especially taking part in the Gulf of Guinea off West Africa, show new numbers from IMB, applauding the sustained efforts in the area.

The number of grave piracy incidents and armed robberies on the global merchant fleet have dropped, with positive developments in the Gulf of Guinea off West Africa as a major contributing factor, the International Maritime Bureau’s (IMB) annual piracy report shows.
