Carriers scrapped 292 vessels on South Asian beaches last year

Even though 2022 marked a decade-long low for dismantled ships along South Asian beaches, the number is still alarming, states Shipbreaking Platform. A total of 292 ships were scrapped at the controversial yards.

While the number of commercial ships ending their life on the beachy shores of Southeast Asia reached a decade-long low, the figures are still alarming, writes NGO Shipbreaking Platform in their year-end scrapping report of 2022.
