45 ships ended up at Asian beaching yards in Q3

A total of 73 vessels were scrapped during the third quarter, of which 62 percent ended up on beaches in South Asia, writes Shipbreaking Platform in an update. There were five accidents with shipyard workers during the period.

No less than 73 worn-out vessels were passed along for shipbreaking from July to September, with 62 percent, equivalent to 45 ships, ending up on beaches in India, Pakistan and Bangladesh – a practice known as beaching.
