Valero named as bad bunker source in new court case

In a new court case, US oil company Valero is being accused of having introduced the contaminated marine fuel that caused problems for hundreds of ships last year. World Fuel Services also considers forwarding a damages claim to Valero.

US oil company Valero is being named in a new court case as the source of the contaminated bunker that spread from Houston and ravaged key ports around the world last year.

From January to the late summer of 2018, hundreds of vessels suffered problems after having burned contaminated marine fuel.
