Wärtsilä announces start date for new CEO

Wärtsilä's incoming chief executive will soon assume his new position. He replaces Jaakko Eskola, who is set to retire soon.

Finnish supplier Wärtsilä appointed a new chief executive in the form of Håkan Agnevall in the fall, but now the time has come for the CEO to finally take over the company, says Wärtsilä in a press release.

First, Wärtsilä said that Agnevall would assume his new position by April at the latest, but the company now announces that the change will happen on Feb. 1.
