Danish service carrier Esvagt bags one of the most comprehensive deals in the company's 40 years of existence. Besides extending contracts on three ships, which will mainly work on the Tyra project, the shipping company has signed agreements with TotalEnergies on another five vessels. These deals are long term, and their entailed assignments reach significantly beyond the carrier's usual core business within risk and safety management at sea.
While the ships will continue to function as emergency and rescue vessels, they will also be used to transport and transfer goods and personnel in the Danish North Sea. This expansion is meant to cut down on time, spending and carbon emissions for TotalEnergies – besides, of course, expand the business of Esvagt, which expects the deal to create more than 160 jobs for Danish seafarers.
