China saw record high wood import in 2014

China imported record volumes of softwood logs in 2014 in spite of a decline in the fourth quarter of the year.

China is the world's biggest softwood importer, and the country wood for more than USD 5.4 billion in 2014.

That is a new record even though softwood import volumes declined in the fourth quarter, reports Wood Resource Quarterly in a statement on Monday.
