Global steel output down two percent in May

The world's combined steel output noted a slight setback in May 2015 compared to the same period last year, a development driven mainly by significant slides among Asia's steel giants.

The 65 steel producing countries that report to the World Steel Association produced a total of 139 million tons (Mt) in May 2015, a 2.1 percent decline from the same period last year.
