Altor Equity Partners' former Danish CEO is behind the multi-million dollar acquisition of OW Bunkers' tanker vessels from the bankrupt company's estate. Last month, a series of investors announced that they, under the name Alba Tankers, would continue operation of several OW Bunker tanker vessels that had been caught in a bind following the bankruptcy. The ships transport bunker oil, and are currently sailing under the name Alba Tankers in a company established in July this year.
One of the investors in the company is an exceedingly well-know figure in OW Bunker. This concerns Denis Viet-Jacobsen, who has served in numerous positions in Danish business circles. He served on the OW Bunker board of directors through his position as a managing partner in Altor Equity Partners until 2010.
