STX Offshore to slash 30 percent of its workforce

Korea's STX Offshore & Shipbuilding will lay off around 800 employees ahead of next year in order to avoid receivership in the first half of 2016.

The major Korean shipyard group STX Offshore & Shipbuilding will lay off close to 800 employees as part of last-ditch attempt to avoid entering receivership in the first half of 2016.
