Desmi Ocean Guard, which saw its ballast water management system shot down by the US Coast Guard (USCG) in December 2015, is now appealing the decision, the company writes in a press release Tuesday.

"We are, like many other BWTS providers and ship-owners, surprised and disappointed with this preliminary decision, and after having carefully reviewed all available data and information together with our legal counsel, we have decided to file an appeal," Desmi Ocean Guard writes in the press release.
