New report: Downturn devours 50,000 Norwegian oil jobs

A recovery from the crisis in the oil industry will not happen for many years, and until then thousands of jobs in Norway must be eliminated, according to estimates in a new report from the Norwegian Oil and Gas Association.

It is darkest before dawn, as the saying goes. And in the Norwegian oil industry, it will likely get a lot darker in the coming years. The recovery is not estimated to take over for the current oil crisis before 2018, and during the next few years many thousands of jobs will vanish, according to a new report from the Norwegian Oil and Gas Association, report several Norwegian media sources citing Norwegian business daily Dagens Næringsliv.
